Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
WatchTranslate helps users generate translated subtitles for supported browser videos and local video files. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and how to contact us.
Operator and contact
WatchTranslate is operated for the website watchtranslate.com and the WatchTranslate browser extension. For privacy, account, billing, or support requests, contact support@watchtranslate.com.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your email address, Google sign-in identifier when you choose Google login, invite redemption status, session state, and remaining processing quota.
- Video processing information, such as the page domain or URL context, media metadata, file name, file size, duration, selected target language, generated source subtitles, translated subtitles, and processing status.
- Local Player data, such as the local video or audio chunks you upload for subtitle generation. Local files are used to generate subtitles and are not added to a public media or subtitle library.
- Payment, subscription, and allowance records, such as plan and billing interval, billing email, payment status, transaction identifiers, entitlement cycles, usage ledger entries, refunds, credits, and manual account adjustments. Full card numbers are processed by the payment provider and are not intentionally stored by WatchTranslate.
- Technical data, such as IP address, browser and extension version, device and language settings, request timestamps, job IDs, timing metrics, error codes, diagnostic logs, and security or anti-abuse signals.
How we use information
- To provide subtitle generation, translation, local player playback, account login, invite redemption, quota tracking, and customer support.
- To process payments, maintain quota and billing ledgers, investigate failed jobs, issue refunds or credits, prevent duplicate charges, and handle disputes.
- To debug reliability, improve subtitle quality, measure processing performance, maintain cache correctness, and protect the service from abuse.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, payment network, security, and policy obligations.
Video and subtitle processing
When you request subtitles, WatchTranslate may receive only the media data needed for that task, such as audio segments, short media ranges, existing subtitle tracks, generated subtitles, and related job metadata. We do not publish user subtitle results, and adult or private content processed by a user is not added to a public subtitle library.
Retention
- Generated processing files are retained for 3 days by default. This includes temporary media files, audio chunks, subtitle job artifacts, generated subtitles, and short-lived diagnostic files.
- Account, invite, quota ledger, payment, refund, admin adjustment, security, and support records may be retained longer as needed for account access, bookkeeping, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
- You may request deletion of account information by contacting us. Some records may be kept if required for legal, accounting, security, payment, or dispute reasons.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share information only as needed to operate the service, including with infrastructure, email, authentication, payment, storage, security, and subtitle processing providers such as Cloudflare, Resend, Google OAuth, payment processors, and local or remote processing workers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the service, or others.
Your choices and controls
- You can sign in to view your account and quota. You can request access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing us.
- You can remove the browser extension, clear browser storage, or stop using Local Player at any time.
- We do not currently send marketing newsletters. If we add optional marketing email later, we will provide an unsubscribe method.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect accounts, sessions, quota records, and processing artifacts. No internet service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
WatchTranslate is not intended for children or users under 18. Do not use the service to process content involving minors, including any sexual or exploitative content involving minors.
International processing
The service may be operated from, or supported by providers in, different countries. By using WatchTranslate, you understand that information may be processed where we or our providers operate.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, payment flow, infrastructure, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.

Terms of Service
Last updated: July 15, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to WatchTranslate, including the watchtranslate.com website, the WatchTranslate browser extension, Local Player, account pages, paid processing minutes, and related subtitle services.
Service description
WatchTranslate generates translated subtitles for supported browser videos and local video files. The service may include account login, browser extension controls, Local Player, subtitle styling, processing quota, billing pages, and support tools.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter these terms. If you use WatchTranslate for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login session, email account, and device secure. You must provide accurate account and payment information and must not share, sell, or transfer your account access without permission.
Processing minutes and quota
- Usage is measured by delivered video seconds or minutes. Subscriptions include separate monthly allowances for new-subtitle generation and instant subtitles; unused monthly allowance does not roll over.
- Only successfully delivered subtitle ranges consume allowance. Failed jobs, unsupported media, authentication failures, no delivered result, and quota-blocked requests do not consume allowance.
- Your own paid or generated subtitle ranges are not charged again. Shared subtitle cache and existing-caption translation use instant-subtitle allowance. Raw untranslated captions are not charged.
- Processing minutes are service credits for WatchTranslate only. They are not cash, stored value, cryptocurrency, or transferable property.
Payments, refunds, and credits
- Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. You agree to the provider's payment flow and any applicable payment network rules.
- Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Annual plans charge the displayed annual amount once per year while product allowances refresh monthly. Quick Add is a separate one-time purchase.
- Refund requests are handled through support and require review. Except where applicable law gives you a right to a refund or withdrawal, completed subscription and Quick Add payments are final and non-refundable. We may also issue refunds for duplicate charges, clear billing errors, or at WatchTranslate's discretion. Ordinary cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period; an approved full refund of the current subscription charge may end paid access immediately. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
- If a job is incorrectly charged, fails after quota is deducted, or is affected by a clear billing error, contact us and we may issue a quota credit, refund, or ledger correction.
Content
- You are responsible for the videos, audio, subtitles, files, and pages you process. You must have the rights and permissions needed to access, process, translate, and view that content.
- You must follow the rules of any website, platform, network, or content provider you use with WatchTranslate. Do not use the service to bypass paywalls, access controls, DRM, geographic restrictions, or other technical restrictions.
- Do not use WatchTranslate for unlawful, non-consensual, exploitative, abusive, harassing, hateful, violent, infringing, or otherwise harmful content. Do not process content involving minors in sexual, exploitative, abusive, or unsafe contexts.
Acceptable use
- Do not overload, probe, scrape, attack, reverse engineer, resell, or interfere with the service, its security, its billing systems, or other users.
- Do not automate purchases, invite redemption, account creation, or subtitle requests in a way that bypasses rate limits, quota limits, or normal product controls.
- Do not use WatchTranslate where doing so would violate law, third-party rights, payment-provider rules, or platform policies.
Your content and license
You keep your rights in your content. You grant WatchTranslate a limited license to process, transmit, store, analyze, translate, and display your content only as needed to provide the service, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, and enforce these terms.
Beta status and subtitle accuracy
WatchTranslate is still evolving. Subtitle recognition, translation, timing, supported sites, pricing, retention, and availability may change. Generated subtitles may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unsuitable for professional, legal, medical, emergency, or safety-critical use.
WatchTranslate rights
The website, browser extension, Local Player, software, design, branding, documentation, and service infrastructure are owned by WatchTranslate or its licensors. These terms do not grant you ownership of the service or its technology.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access, revoke invites, block abusive traffic, or adjust quota if we believe the service is being misused, payment has failed, a chargeback occurs, these terms are violated, or continued access creates legal, security, operational, or payment risk.
Disclaimers
The service is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, WatchTranslate disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WatchTranslate will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost content, business interruption, or substitute services. Our total liability for paid services is limited to the amount you paid to WatchTranslate in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Privacy
Your use of WatchTranslate is also governed by the Privacy Policy at /privacy.
Changes
We may update these Terms of Service as the product, pricing, payment flow, infrastructure, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
